Tamika L. McKenzie-Romer born November 23, 1980 to Randolph and the late Irene Rolle-McKenzie. She graduated from L. N. Coakley High School in 1999 and is currently employed at Bank at The Bahamas Hoopers Bay Branch for the past 11 years. She received a Certificate in Banking along with numerous training and a wealth of knowledge.
Tamika was diagnosed February 14, 2017 with Stage 2 Triple Negative Breast Cancer and is presently receiving treatment at Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Atlanta, Georgia.
Having so much fear when first diagnosed, she was told again and again that people with this diagnosis can live for many years, and decided not to live each day in fear. Now she want to encourage others coping with this or another cancer diagnosis to let go of that fear. “Life is to short to be living in fear and all things will work together for your good through prayer and the support of family and friends”.
Tamika resides on the beautiful Island of Exuma. She is married to Omar Romer and they are blessed with two wonderful daughters Ta-Shanté 15 and I’Rene 12, her pillors of strength.
