My name is Ivan Francis, I was diagnosed with Kidney, Prostate and Lung Cancer in 2003.
I began feeling pain in my chest, my feet and basically my entire body, started feeling week, tired and begin eating less for the next two or three years, I began taking different medications, but I only got worse.
I then took a CAT Scan and X-ray and that is when they found a tumor on my kidneys and lungs. I was then told that I would have to do surgery to find out what kind of tumor it was. I then decided to have my kidneys removed because it was at Stage 2 Cancer. After my surgery I was in hospital for 11 months recovering. After being discharged, I would have to go to hospital five (5) days a week for check ups. I then did 2 rounds of chemo a week for three months.
I then did an MRI and prostate cancer showed up, so then I started doing radiation treatments on my prostate. I went back a few months later for a check up and was found to be cancer free. Since then, even my hair has grown back. God is good! I still do my weekly check ups and the Oncology Department at the hospital to ensure that the cancer does not return. I would advise adults to have regular check ups in order that if the disease is detected early the doctors may be able to help you.
